             The Vision of EGM

“Where there is no vision, the people perish…”
Proverbs 29:18

Most of my life, I have interpreted Proverbs 29:18 something like this:  “If a man has no vision, he will perish,”  i.e. without a dream a man will never accomplish anything worth while.  If we look closer at the verse however, the consequences of having no vision are far more reaching.  It is not only the individual with no vision who will perish but “the people”.  When we have no vision, others perish.

The vision of EGM is found in its name: Everlasting Gospel Ministries, taken from Revelation 14:16.  “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.”  The purpose and vision of EGM is to preach the gospel to every nation.  Our vision of doing so is through vocational training in a Christ centered atmosphere.

I have heard statistics stating that more than 90% of people who become Christians do so because of the influence of friends or co-workers.  This means that the workplace could very well be the greatest mission field on earth.  The training of those entering the workplace however, seems to be left up to secular institutions.  What if those entering to workforce were first taught under a Christian influence?

Suppose young people were taught not only skills but also good work and business ethics.  Suppose they were taught how to work hard, be honest, and to be the best at whatever they do.  Suppose young people like this were taught to be missionaries wherever they go.  Suppose there were many such schools with such a vision.   What would the next generation be?

Many young people in our schools today are written off as average or even as almost unteachable all because no one has given them a reason to learn.  It is the vision of EGM Vocational Schools to give kids a reason to learn, and to do so in the Character and under the influence of Jesus Christ-the creator and giver of all knowledge-and to send those kids into our own country and into all the world as vocational missionaries for Christ.

While it cannot be denied that reading, writing, and arithmetic are important, most kids fail to find a purpose in learning them.  “What’s it for?”  “What do I do with it?”  Where there is no purpose, there is no learning.  It is the purpose driven child that excels. For many young people it is a vocation that fuels purpose.  Vocational training gives children a purpose to learn. They find out that they can actually do something with what we are trying to cram in their head.  When this happens, the light bulb goes on and true learning begins.

Not only does EGM hope to reach young people, but in today’s tough economy, many adults are returning to school, hoping to learn a new trade that will help them survive.  Again, we have left this training to the secular world.  Why?  “Every good gift cometh from above-from the Father.”  It’s GOD who teaches a man his skill.  It’s God who teaches a man or woman to prosper.  What if there was a training organization that could intercept these adults, show them the salvation of God, teach them a trade, and give them a new start in life.  EGM would like to be that organization.

Missionaries around the world often struggle with vocational needs.  They are often hindered from the work of preaching the Gospel because of intense physical needs; fixing their vehicle, building a dwelling place or a church, growing food, carrying water, etc.  EGM would like to involve its students in short term or summer missions camps and train them in trades like construction, well drilling, agriculture, mechanics, etc. hoping to find them a place in God’s harvest field around the world.

EGM fully supports the growing home school movement in our country and hopes to not only incorporate Family Life Homeschool with our project but hopes to extend a helpful hand to other Christian schools and homeschoolers by offering vocational classes that can fit homeschooler’s schedules and supplement their education.

EGM hopes to become self-supporting by employing its students in the actual trades they are learning.  Skilled contractors, technicians, mechanics, businessmen, etc. would train students in the classroom before taking them out on real jobs in a real business with the revenues being used to support the school.

What do we need?

Phase I

We have located some property that would be suitable for the work we intend to do.  We’ve found approximately 33 acres surrounded by property that is also for sale (this would allow room for future expansion).  The asking price is $396,000.
Once the property is acquired, planning can begin to build the facilities.  EGM will need the counsel of those skilled in the trades we intend to teach so the school can be properly designed.
We will need Spirit-filled, Godly teachers who have both worked in and excelled in their trade who have an attitude toward loving and teaching young people.
We will need Spirit-filled, Godly experienced men and women who can give both legal and common sense advice for planning, building, and operating EGM Vocational Schools.
Above all things, we need prayer that God will lead, provide, and direct in all of our affairs.  “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that built it.”  Psalm 127:1

In Christ's Service,
Brother Randy

Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee:... ( Acts 3;6 )

We receive many requests from pastors and churches around the world wanting to partner with our ministry. At present the only missionary we support financially, not as a ministry but personally, is Phylis Newby from Haiti. I have posted a link to a you -tube presentation of her work below. We pray the Lord will bless and allow us in the future to support others, however I must say at this time with Peter, "Silver and Gold have I none." We do welcome those who want to partner with us in prayer and we welcome prayer requests, but at this time we can be of little help financially. To those who have sought financial help from us, please forgive us if we have disappointed you .
